Our aim is to meet the energy needs of society, in ways that are economically, socially and environmentally safe and responsible, now and in the future. Shell has played an important role in the country, not only as a premier oil company, but also as a committed corporate citizen and change agent. We have a nationwide Retail network of strategically located service stations, offering our customers a variety of fuels products, convenience retailing as well as friendly service.
Shell is committed to the empowerment of Historically Disadvantaged South Africans and in this regard we have formulated transformation programmes and activities that are designed to accelerate their development.
Shell South Africa’s commitment to transform its business to reflect a retailer profile that represents the demographics of our country remains an imperative priority for us.
Our BBBEE policy and programme continue to support and facilitate access to ownership, skills transfer, enterprise development and all essential pillars of this piece of legislation. It is in line with that thought that our retail department is pursuing a programme meant to fast-track the recruitment of Black Retailers to own and operate Shell’s service stations.
The key driver for transformation in our organisation and of particular note to retail is to ensure that we do not only comply with the rules and regulations governing the industry in this area, but we seek to own and occupy a leadership position on transformation.
