This year Shell will be bringing back the popular Stunt School, featuring professional drivers demonstrating vehicle tricks. Shell has extended its exhibition presence within the motoring expo to include its Pit stop tyre changing challenge, the remote control car track, the racing simulator and photo booth as well as new attractions including a mini-theatre, food-court and Ferrari merchandise shop. Visitors to the Festival will have an opportunity to also explore Shell apps and online gaming and learn more about Shell’s products and services. Further activities will be announced closer to the event.
Debbie Foley, Retail Marketing Manager, sees the Top Gear Festival Powered by Shell V-Power to be the ideal opportunity to interact directly with motoring enthusiasts. Says Debbie, “People who are passionate about their cars and all things related to motoring attend the Top Gear Festival and we absolutely share this passion”.
“Shell V-Power fuels are our best performance fuels, designed for people who love their cars. The Shell V-Power race fuel and road fuels are so similar that you could fill up a Scuderia Ferrari Formula One™ car with the formula we sell at our service stations. Our commitment to performance extends from the race track to our forecourts.”
With approximately 25% of Shell’s service stations being found in KwaZulu-Natal, Debbie sees the Moses Mabhida Stadium as the ideal venue.
“Last year was the first time Top Gear Festival was held in Durban and it was enthusiastically embraced by locals and visitors alike. We expect to see visitor numbers grow this year and we want to make sure that their experience brings them back year after year,” says Debbie.
Shell will be running a forecourt competition in the run up to Top Gear Festival to give customers across the country the opportunity to attend this celebration of all things motoring.
