Made for women by women AccelerateHer is a Shell initiative aimed at empowering our female youth. It focuses on equipping young, driven female aspiring entrepreneurs with the skill-set and knowledge on how to start and run their own business. This programme is fully funded and supports candidates with through activities including developmental workshops, business development support sessions and mentorship from some of the finest industry experts.
We’re all about youth upliftment, supporting youth entrepreneurship and that is why we work around the clock to support upliftment programmes that will empower them to reach their full potential. Established in South Africa in 1995, LiveWIRE is offered in more than 17 countries globally and has uplifted young entrepreneurs that in turn become active members of society and contributors to the rise of the economy.
Shell supports entrepreneurship because we can see young entrepreneurs introduce innovation to create a positive impact on the local economy and create jobs for the future of South-Africa. Orange Corners is a unique opportunity for young South-Africans to choose to take a different path by creating their own businesses and contributing to the country’s development.
In this day and age, more people are using technology but few are playing a role in this technology or pursuing studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). South Africa still faces a shortage of suitably qualified STEM graduates which results in a massive industry need for talented people with relevant knowledge and skills.
STEM is at the heart of Shell. We understand the importance of these fields, and through our STEM-related programmes and partnerships with learning institutions, we aim to equip future generations with the skills to lead the emerging energy transition.
